Summary: The semantic side of linguistic facts, which is more fully represented in the syntactic structure, is an urgent
issue of modern linguistic science. The definition of structural and semantic features of semantic connections is
significant not only linguistically, but also cognitively. This article studies the attributive relations expressed by syntactic
units. The study of the syntactic structure of Turkic languages began only in the mid-1950s and remains an urgent
area of modern linguistics. Despite the existence of works that directly or indirectly address the issues of semantic
connections, syntactic units with syncretic meanings still require detailed analysis. The purpose of the study is to identify
semantic features of attributive constructions based on the material of Turkic languages. To achieve this goal, the
following tasks are to be solved: to describe the ways of formal representation of attributive relations, to determine their essence, and to establish the nature of syncretism of semantic relations. During the study, the method of linguistic description, as well as the comparative and the structural semantic methods were applied. The material for the analysis was drawn from the texts of fiction and small folklore genres. The conducted research made it possible to determine that the main expression of the concept of attribution is the grammatical category of the adjective. It was also found that the system of attributive constructions in Turkic languages is characterized by branching. |
