Summary: In the historiography of post-colonial studies, Ireland may be of particular interest, since this country was one of the first British colonies to achieve independence. Accordingly, certain trends in its development, including historiography and methodology of historical source studies, emerged almost half a century earlier than in other former British colonies, which makes it possible to make cautious predictions about the occurrence of certain problems of post-colonial historiography in general and some possible ways to solve them.
