Summary: Dina Rubina’s short story “Area of Blinding Light” has never been an object of special linguo-poetic interpretation, while referring to the idiostyle of this writer seems relevant for the scholarly understanding of contemporary literature as a form of artistic representation of modern reality. The purpose of the study was to identify idiostylistic linguo-poetic means that form the text as a solid artistic entity and enable us to perceive the image in the title of the short story as a key that reveals the semantic depth of the text. The conclusions were made that the most signifi cant idiostylistic linguo-poetic means include the nature of the plot and composition structure of the story, its spatial and temporal coordinates, speech architectonics, fi gurative density, and intertextuality mechanisms.
