Keywords: Russo-Swedish War of 1788–1790 Russian historical songs space toponyms |
Summary: The article addresses the poorly studied historical song “The Swedish King Demands the Return of the
Cities” dedicated to the Russo-Swedish War of 1788–1790. The subject of analysis is the space reflected in the song.
The author studies the toposes “the demands of the cities on the part of the Swedish King”, “the enemy’s threats to seize
St. Petersburg and Moscow” and “pies (ammunition or weapons) prepared by the Russians for the enemy” based on
toponyms. Two vectors of the use of toponyms in the song text are established: 1) reflection of geographical reality and implementation of the function of transforming the “alien” space into the “our” one; 2) construction of folklore metaphors. |
