Summary: The purpose of the study is to determine whether or not there are differences in the composition of the molding masses of sperrings ceramics, depending on the geographical area of the settlements. The task was to determine the structure and material of ceramic fragments from the settlements of the sperrings culture in the territory of the Ladoga region of Karelia. For petrographic research, 14 fragments were selected, mainly parts of the vessel walls, decorated with the main types of ornamentation: impressions of fish vertebrae (2), indented lines (7), rope (2) and comb (3) stamp. Researches of ceramic fragments was carried out in a ground specimens using binocular microscope MBS-1 at increase in 16, 24 and 140 times. A large part of the studied ceramic fragments (10) for composite structure made of clays lean clays hydrologist and smectite-hydrologist composition, although this clay is worse quality and to a lesser extent was used in the manufacture of the sperrings ceramics from the settlements of the basin of lake Onega. As a thinner in the test, 11 of the 14 studied fragments of sperrings ceramics from the monuments of the north-eastern and north-western Ladoga region were recorded only the soil of crystalline rocks, which has direct analogies with the dishes of the Onega lake basin. In two samples, an admixture of chamotte (crushed ceramics) was recorded, which may be due to the influence of an earlier layer of combed ceramics presented in the settlements of the south-eastern Prionezhe region.
