publicism		 Summary: The article presents the results of the structural-semantic and statistical analysis of complex sentences with the conjunction потому что in the context of their functioning in publicistic texts. The study is conducted in the framework of the study of the expression of conditionality relationships by complex sentences in the works of the academic and publicistic literary styles. Among the conjunctions marking causal relationships, the studied conjunction is considered to be the most commonly used, stylistically neutral, conveying a common causal meaning. In application to the functional styles, in contrast to the low usage of this conjunction in academic texts, its high productivity in publicism was found out – almost half (48 %) of the complex causal structures under the study are framed by the connector потому что. The results of the analysis show that such high productivity is ensured by the fact that this linking device has a wide syntactic potential: compatibility with particles, coordinating conjunctions and other actualizers, as well as the possibility of the dissected and even separate use of its elements in the main and subordinate clauses of a sentence. Such a modification of conjunction потому что serves to clarify the various causal relationships conveyed in publicistic works, and in certain situations its use is perhaps the only possible one. In addition, conjunction потому что prevails in the formation of parallel and parcel causal structures which contribute to the implementation of expressive and influential functions of publicistic style. In general, from the whole list of the constructions under consideration being framed by потому что, the sentences in which it functions in an uncomplicated or unmodified form take smaller percentage. Thus, the productivity of conjunction потому что in publicistic style is due not so much to its neutral semantics and common usage as to the wide syntactic capacity of this linking device.
