Summary: The article deals with previously unstudied wooden chapels from the period between the late XVIII and the early XX centuries of one of the most ancient parishes of Kargopol. The tasks of the research included studying historical sources on the objects under consideration and tracing their construction history. The aim of the study was to identify the uniqueness of the architectural and constructive solutions of the chapels by comparing them with their analogues and examining them in the context of the wooden architecture of the region as a whole. The article materials were collected through historical and archival research and field investigation of the buildings. The revealed architectural features of the chapels under study correspond to the nature of the spread of wooden architecture in Poonezhye. Thus, new historical studies made it possible to introduce little-known objects into scientific circulation, trace their history, study architecture and as a whole replenish knowledge about the wooden monuments of the Russian North.
