Summary: The article presents the main features of the dialect of the northern part of Lake Onega coast (Zaonezhye), which reflect the complex history of this territory settlement and the formation of a regional dialect system. It describes the phonetic phenomena that developed under the influence of the Baltic-Finnish languages: recessive shift of stress, accompanied by a change of first syllable vowels (such as lyázhit < lezhít, s táboy < s tobóy); transition of [j] into [g’] [d’] at the beginning of a word (gízdit’ < yezdit’, des < *dezd < yezd); simplification of consonant combinations (gverstá > verstá, greslíviy < reslíviy) and others. The article focuses on the lexicalization of certain phonetic phenomena, dialect words existing only in the Zaonezhye dialects.
