Summary: The article describes the emergence of local narrative models, ritual practices that are born in the minds of local historians of the Russian North identifying their knowledge with a “place of memory” (P. Nora), which does not quite correspond to the real historical process of self-refl ection of local folklore culture. The studied essays of local historians show the mutual infl uence and interchange of social and cultural elements of different North Russian traditions, distinguished by their “behavior” and “appearance”, perhaps by their content, and most importantly – by the architectonics of folk singularity.
