Summary: The article devotes to poorly known problem of Old Believers impact on the Petrovsky foundries and arose near it settlement, known
as Petrovsky slododa in first decades of 18th century. The goal of the research is to demonstrate, that Old Believers were considerable
part of Petrovsky slododa permanent residents in that times already. It was used as an argument information about the oldest
Petrovsky slododa cemeteries History from historical sources and local scholars of the late 19th century evidences. It’s makes conclusion,
that at the first decades of Petrovsky foundries existence in Petrovsky slododa environs two cemeteries appeared – for Official
Orthodoxy followers and for Old Believers. Old Believers cemetery existed at contemporary crossroad of Karl Marks prospect and
Kirov and Kujbyshev streets. It was abandoned up to the middle of 18th century. But the fact of its existence says, that at the first
decades of Petrovsky sloboda existence many Old Believers lived here. This fact allows to understand better, why in 1723 it was just
at Petrovsky sloboda took place so famous event in the History of Old Belief as public debate of the Russian Orthodox Church Holy Synod representative hieromonk Neofit with Vyg Old Believers envoys Manuil Petrov and Ivan Matveev. |
