Summary: The study examines the phonetic system of the dialects spoken in the villages of Bannoye (Zavyalovo District), Katyshi, and Chyorny Klyuch (Votkinsk District) to determine their status within the Udmurt dialect space. The relevance of the study stems from the borderline position of these dialect formations between the geographic areas of the Middle Izh and Middle Eastern subdialects, which requires a more precise delineation of the boundaries between these dialect groups. Furthermore, the linguistic features of Udmurt dialects are currently being eroded, making it important to document dialectal material for diachronic research. The study revealed that the dialects spoken in the villages of Bannoye and Katyshi are phonetically related to the Middle Izh subdialects of the Udmurt language, while the dialect of Cherny Klyuch is related to the Middle Eastern subdialects.
