Summary: The purpose of the study is to analyze different variants of spelling for the particle taki in the texts of
the XIX–XXI centuries. The research material was provided by contexts from the Russian National Corpus. The re-
search problem is the lack of uniform spelling for the particle taki, evidenced by different variants of spelling (separate
or hyphenated) in different historical periods, which can be traced in the texts from the period between the XIX and
the early XXI centuries. An analysis of spelling dictionaries, manuals, and reference books on Russian spelling and
punctuation of the said period has revealed that there is no single standard rule for the spelling of the particle taki, even
in publications that complement each other. An attempt is made to reveal the main reasons for the lack of the uniform
spelling of this particle. The relevance of the research is due to the preparation of an already announced new code of rules for Russian spelling and punctuation, in keeping to modern tendencies of language development. The article was written due to the need to unify the spelling of the particle taki and to formalize this single spelling rule in all textbooks, reference books, and dictionaries. |
