Summary: The relevance of this study arises from the limited exploration of the linguistic features of Feofan
Prokopovich’s poetic language. The focus of this research is on 315 epithets drawn from 24 of his poems. The primary objective of this research is to conduct a morphological and lexical-semantic analyze of these epithets to establish
their stylistic function in the lyric poetry of Feofan Prokopovich. The analysis utilized morphological, lexical-stylistic,
contextual, and comparative methods. The findings reveal the prevalence of post-positive epithets in the poetic texts
of Feofan Prokopovich. Epithets are actively used by the author as rhetorical figures, such as antithesis, oxymoron, and repetition. Epithet phrases in Feofan Prokopovich’s lyric poetry often become the basis for the creation of ancient, biblical, and folk poetic images.
