Summary: The object of the research is the activities of the organs and troops of the People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs of the USSR in the territory of the German province of East Prussia against the sabotage and terrorist underground of the enemy in 1944–1945. The relevance of the topic is due to the insufficient study of this issue in both domestic and foreign historiography, which allows us to reveal little-known pages of the final period of the Great Patriotic War. The purpose of the study is to consider the composition of the German sabotage and terrorist underground, the main methods of its actions in the rear of the Red Army, as well as the forms of counteraction of the organs and troops of the NKVD of the USSR to sabotage and terrorist actions in the rear of the active army. The article is based on documents from the Central Archive of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the Russian State Military Archive, previously not introduced into scientific circulation.
