Summary: The article is devoted to the analysis of the grammar and functioning of Russian numerals in the aspect of their study by foreign students. The relevance of the research is due to the fact that this area has not been sufficiently developed in modern linguodidactics, in particular, the theoretical generalization of grammatical information about numerals in the aspect of teaching Russian as a foreign language has not been previously undertaken. The material for the study was special textbooks for foreign students by V. K. Lebedev, E. S. Kotvitskaya, O. I. Glazunova, as well as methodological works by M. V. Vsevolodova, V. N. Wagner and others devoted to the study of numerals in the RKIcourse. It is established that the functional-semantic approach based on the linguodidactic description determines the inclusion in the field of numerals of a number of linguistic facts that are traditionally considered in other sections of grammar or in some cases are ignored altogether. Mastering the declension of Russian numerals causes great difficulties for foreigners, and therefore its description requires an emphasis from considering individual paradigms to searching for grammatical analogies. The analysis of syntax in the aspect of teaching Russian speech to foreigners requires addressing not only the quantitative-nominal combinations traditionally considered in grammars, but also more complex nominal groups, including numerals, the study of which, including with the aim of including in the The practical course of RKI should be continued.
