Summary: The article deals with the problem of industrial pollution impact of “Pechenganickel” copper-nickel plant, located in the Arctic zone
of the Russian Federation, on the growth dynamics of Sorbus gorodkovii Pojark (rowan Gorodkova) – an endemic species of Fennoscandia.
Parameters of the growth dynamics of leaves and annual shoots of S. gorodkovii in the impact zone of Zapolyarny show
that rowan cenopopulations have adapted to chronic pollution of the environment with heavy metals. The inhibition of growth processes
in the leaves occurs at the beginning of their vegetation. For the first time it was shown that S. gorodkovii is resistant to high concentrations of heavy metals. In the urbanized area of Zapolyarny the inhibition of growth is reduced. |
