biography		 Summary: In the past few years, more and more attention has been paid to folklore collectors’ biographies in folklore studies. Researchers turn to not only known collectors but also those “ordinary”, those who lived and worked in numerous villages throughout the country. Based on both published and archival sources, the article deals with the biography of one of them, a farmer from the Kargopol land, Alexey A. Moiseyev. The article investigates folklore texts published by him in the Olonetskiye Gubernskiye Vedomosti newspaper. The author of the article also points out folklore and ethnographic pieces in this newspaper published without a name, which were recorded at the place where Moiseyev resided and at the time of his high activity as the paper’s correspondent. At the end, a sketch of his personality and work is given and his input into the preservation of the oral tradition of the Kargopol land is summed up.
