Summary: This paper is devoted to the history of the study of Russian Old Believers in Japan from the very beginning (60s – 70s of the 20th century) to the present day. The authors not only describe the traditional themes and methods of Japanese specialists of various scientific disciplines (historians, ethnographers, literary researchers, art historians and others), but also present their joint and integrated research carried out in our time, and analyze the trend of research subjects. Particular attention is paid to the work of Japanese researchers in collaboration with foreign colleagues in organizing expeditions, conferences and publishing books in recent times. The paper contains detail bibliography of Japanese Old Believer study.
