Summary: In the study of the food issue during the First world war before the February revolution (August 1914 – February 1917) there is a
tendency to shift to the study of regional history The situation of the food issue in the Kostroma province during the First world
war is little studied, the study of this problem through the prism of a single province will reveal the features of the solution of the
issue on the ground. The food issue in the Kostroma province, because of its consuming nature, becomes a problem from the very
beginning of hostilities. Attempts to stop the rise in food prices by taxing products often have a negative effect. After the great
retreat of 1915 in the Russian Empire formed a Special meeting on the food issue and formed a system of commissioners special
meeting. Until February 1917, there are two stages of solving the problem: the first stage is characterized by the lack of a single organizational center, the second stage is the center of the issue becomes the Commissioner of a special meeting. |
