evacuation transportation		 Summary: Evacuation transportation, carried out by the Kirov railway in summer and autumn of 1941, was carried out urgently. Simultaneously with the transportation of the material-technical base and residents of KFSSR, the staff of the Kirov railway dismantled and took out the property of its services and depots. The archive of railway management also transported the documents. The well-coordinated activity of the railway workers made it possible to save and transport a significant part of the industrial equipment, livestock, construction materials, foodstuffs and population of the republic to the rear. Only a small part of the railway property remained on the territory occupied by the enemy. However, there was a low evaluation of the activities of the Kirov railway in this direction in the documentation in the funds of the National Archives of the Republic of Karelia. In particular, it was pointed out that the administration of the railway hadn’t fulfilled the plan for the provision of the rolling stock for the enterprises and organizations of KFSSR. The analysis of the historical sources, the comparison of the data, showed the objective reasons that prevented the management of the road from directing a number of wagons and platforms established by the plan. For the same reasons, railwaymen had to destroy and leave the property of the railway in the territory occupied by the enemy. All these circumstances are analyzed in the article thoroughly.
