Summary: In F. I. Buslayev’s works the conception “nativity” is often used when one means native verses, native poetry. Naturally the word can also be called as “native word”. The phenomenon nativity is connected according to Buslayev, with independent existence from the arbitrary rule. The basic feature of nativity is its moral and ethical contents. The unity of the people and the personality in their active work explains the paradox in unexampled evenness of the Russian language regularity in its local usage, the nativity of the language displays absence of word nativity in the text. And besides the existence of meaning accumulation in language units. Accumulation accounts for the language ability to be the basic ethnic feature and it serves as the basic for heuristic process and word formation and as an instrument of cognition. Thus studying the people’s history is impossible without studying the language in which the history of the people is reflected. Buslayev’s ideas concerning the nativity of poetic words became the basis of future linguafolklore that started with the observation of proper nouns in folklore texts and the analysis of regular epithets that displayed laconic brevity in traditional culture. Buslayev put forward the idea of composing a dictionary of constant epithets that can help to determine the Russian people’s thinking. Buslayev appreciated the value of lexicography and linguistic methods in lexicography, when studying the native word Buslayev in fact became the 1st Russian philologist in the modern understanding of this term.
