educational literature		 Summary: An analytical overview of the famous work by F. I. Buslaev “Historical Anthology of Church Slavonic and Old Russian Languages” is offered. The facts of its creation are given. The structure and content of the work are considered. Its role in formation of professional culture of the philologist and influence on the subsequent tradition of preparation of historical and linguistic textbook is noted. Special emphasis is placed on the scientific value of the first complete textbook of historical monuments and the tradition that was developed after Buslaev’s publication.
